Jones Truck Line team at the former Shops building, which is now home to over 30 nonprofits.The building that is the current Center for Nonprofits @ the JTL Shops used to be the site where Harvey Jones kept his fleet of trucks in tip top working condition for over 50 years.

In the mid-1990's, through the vision of Bernice Jones, the widow of Jones Truck Lines owner, Harvey, the conversion of the former Jones Truck Line facility, a sprawling 40 acre campus, into three buildings encompassing the Jones Center campus, was completed.

The former truck terminal was converted into The Jones Center, which serves as an education and recreation hub for the community.  It is a multi-use facility, which includes an indoor ice-skating rink, as well as indoor pool, basketball courts, movie theater, chapel, educational and meeting areas.  The former corporate office building is now a Health Education facility.

The JTL Shop building, where big rigs were once repaired, is now home to over 40 non-profit agencies.  Mrs. Jones wishes were for a building where agencies could all be housed together, with nominal charges for utilities and space use. Many of the agencies have called the Center for NonProfits @ JTL Shops, (previously named the Family Resource Center) home since the doors opened to the public in 1996.

A JTL mechanic works on a truck at the former JTL Shop.The Center provides affordable, professional office space where its tenants are encouraged to collaborate and develop relationships amongst each other, as well as with other community organizations.  It includes shared use of conference rooms and meeting spaces, as well as shared office equipment and services, such as phone system and Internet access.
