A family walks in to the Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary's. There are several vital service providers located here to serve the community. The Jones Trust has long been a staple in supporting and encouraging the work of nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas.  The Trust has an understanding of community engagement, of our work  and our accountability back to the community.  The Jones Trust strives to live up to the ideals exampled by Harvey and Bernice Jones by working as a holistic, collaborative organization committed to serving the broader community.

In October 2008, The Jones Trust accepted the donation of the former St. Mary's hospital campus with the dream and vision to develop a Center for Nonprofits which would serve the broader Northwest Arkansas Community. This generous and visionary donation provided a unique opportunity to expand the services of The Jones Trust into Benton County.  The Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary's is a national example of sustainability through the re-use of existing facilities, increased operating efficiencies for all partners, ease of access to multiple resources for our customers, as well as a community gathering place for all to enjoy.

Two years after opening, over forty nonprofit organizations have joined us in becoming a hub of resources working collaboratively with the community to better the quality of life for thousands of residents througout the region. Working together, organizations are able to more effectively and efficiently serve their clients as well as reduce their operating costs.

The Jones Trust accepted the financial obligation to begin work on the Center, but we are still striving to raise $3 million in order to more quickly reduce our operating costs.  Once the funds are raised, we will begin to reduce the lease amount from each partner in the building.  A $1 million gift to the campaign will enable us to reduce the lease rate by at least $1 per square foot and allow those funds to go into the outreach programs of our nonprofit partners.

We encourage individuals, corporations and foundations to consider partnering with the Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary’s.  Donations provide the opportunity for charitable giving along with increased recognition and involvement with the Center and the community it serves.  The gift you give is reflective of how the community embraces all the great things that are happening here.

Whether you’re comfortable giving $10 or $10,000, any amount you give makes a huge contribution becuase the Center for Nonprofits leverages your dollars with foundation grants, local and state funding, and other generous sources to multiply the value and do more for the community.

Once you give, you become an advocate for the Center.  Inspire those around you to setp up and make a difference in their community.  Let them know you care, you contribute and you know that you are making positive things happen at the Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary’s.  The Northwest Arkansas community needs to know the good work going on right here, right now.

OUR PARTNERS

The Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary’s is made up of a wide variety of nonprofit organizations.  There are currently over 40 agencies operating out of the Center.  Each organization offers a  different type of vital service, focused on serving the broad regional needs of the area that focus on the five pillars of the Center: health & wellness, economic support, education, job training/life skills and security.

The Center for Nonprofits provides increased capacity for the organizations housed in the facility through additional physical space, including classroom and meeting rooms; amenities; as well as support services. It also enhances community development by providing a supportive professional environment in which organizations focusing on health, education and human services can collaborate to positively impact our community and gain sustaining organizational skills.

We would love the chance to sit down with you and discuss in more detail all of the Center’s sponsorship opportunities.  To learn more, please contact Tom Galyon at (479) 936-8218.
